Overview
Why launched: OBC/EWS/DNT students face 40% higher dropout rates. PM-YASASVI (2022) provides merit-cum-means scholarships closing this gap with ₹5,000 crore annual outlay.
Core Benefits: Pre-matric ₹20,000 (Class 9-10), Post-matric ₹25,000 (11-12), ₹50,000 UG/PG. Topper awards ₹1 lakh Class 8/10/12. E-content in regional languages. Residential hostels priority. By 2026, 45 lakh scholarships disbursed.
Implementation: NASSCOM portal applications, Aadhaar-DBT, 90% family income limit. AICTE/NTA nodal agencies. Priority for girls (60% target).
Success Stats: Dropout reduced 25%, 2 lakh toppers awarded.
