Overview
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana provides free foodgrains to 81.35 crore NFSA beneficiaries (two-thirds population). Launched during COVID, extended 5 years till 2028 costing ₹11.8 lakh crore.
5kg rice/wheat per person + 1kg dal per family monthly distributed through 5.4 lakh FPS. Quality fortified rice prevents malnutrition. One Nation One Ration Card enables portability across 34 states. DBT integration for Aadhaar seeding.
